Samantha Masters grew up in Sacramento, California and attended California State University, San Francisco for her undergraduate studies. In 2018, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in History. While completing her undergraduate studies, she was an active member of the Delta Pi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, where she held several leadership positions including Chapter President. During her last semester of college, she externed for the Honorable Judge Gail Dekreon at the San Francisco Superior Court, where she reviewed and drafted Temporary Restraining Orders.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Masters worked for two years as a law clerk at a Workers’ Compensation Defense Firm in Sacramento, California. Knowing she wanted to return to the Bay Area, Ms. Masters decided to attend law school at Santa Clara University, School of Law, where she was a board member of the Women and Law Organization and Family Law Society. As a first-generation student, Ms. Masters sought opportunities to support other students by making academic and professional resources more accessible. As such, she became an Academic Success Fellow, where she served as a peer advisor for underclassmen and a speaker at First Generation Orientation.
While in law school, Ms. Masters externed for the Unified Family Court in San Francisco County. Through this experience, she decided to pursue family law as she appreciated the intimate and complex issues in family law matters. Ms. Masters tailored the remainder of her time at Santa Clara Law by taking courses in Community Property, Family Law, Domestic Violence, Mediation, and Negotiations.
In January 2022, Samantha joined Hoover Krepelka as a Law Clerk, where she has been actively involved in family law legal consultations, case strategy, pleadings, hearings, and trial preparations. Following her completion of the July 2023 California Bar Exam, she has returned as a Post-Bar Law Clerk. Â
In her free time, Ms. Masters enjoys spending time with her family and friends, visiting local coffee shops, and completing puzzles.
