Carpenter has been practicing family law in Santa Clara County for more than four decades. She has handled over 1,000 family law cases pertaining to divorce, property valuation and division, child custody and support, spousal support, same sex and blended family custody issues, and domestic violence. She has become the region’s preeminent expert in minor’s counsel cases where she is routinely appointed by the court to advocate for the best interest of children involved in contentious custody matters.

Carpenter joins Hoover Krepelka, LLP following an astounding 40 years at Carpenter and Mayfield, LLP. A former Trustee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, she has received special recognition from the Pro Bono Project of Santa Clara County and Legal Advocates for Children and Youth (LACY). Carpenter is also a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children and has been a member of the National Lawyers Guild since 1972. She currently serves as Chair of the Domestic Violence Intervention Collaborative (DVIC) and has been named to the Northern California Super Lawyers List.
