January 2023
We survived “National Divorce Day,” which is typically the first Monday back to work after the holidays. Family law attorneys universally tend to see a spike in inquiries on “Divorce Day” and throughout the month of January, also known as “Divorce Month.” Our team has been working diligently to attend to the increase in new inquiries, as well as to assist our active clients.
We are pleased to be kicking off 2023 with two phenomenal new employees!

Did you know that Wednesday, August 31st, is “Love Litigating Lawyers Day?” In October 2015, the American Bar Association Practice Council dedicated August 31st as a day for recognizing litigators for their efforts in protecting the public good and the administration of justice.
Thank you to our diverse team of family law litigators for putting forth their best efforts in court by applying available facts to laws to help resolve disputes for our clients.

July is a special month at Hoover Krepelka, LLP, as we celebrate the birthday of HK’s Founder, Robert L. Hoover. This year Bob is counting 91 candles, and we were delighted to host a special event at our office in honor of this momentous occasion. Thank you to Bob’s legal colleagues, family, friends, trusted advisors, and teammates for making Bob’s Birthday Celebration an extraordinary occasion.

Our summer internship program is back on track after a hiatus during the pandemic. Our support team has certainly grown throughout the years and without their efforts, Hoover Krepelka, LLP would not be the firm it is today. January is typically considered “divorce month” when family law attorneys around the globe tend to see surges of new divorce inquiries following the holidays. 2022 has been no exception at HK. Our team has been not only marching forward through the increased call volume and active client cases during this pandemic, but they are also accomplishing some significant achievements. Here’s the month in review.
December 2021
December is a time to remember all that the year has brought us. We experienced another year of growth as the demand for family law increased throughout the pandemic. All of us have been challenged to step up in inventive and resourceful ways that have ultimately created an expanded and hyper-efficient team.
November 2021
We have a longstanding tradition at HK on evenings when California state bar results are posted. Our team visits The Hukilau Restaurant in San Jose, we order a big round of mai-tais and we stand ready to cheer (or console) our colleagues who are awaiting their bar exam results. There is no obligation for our employee(s) awaiting a result to join the team in person. However, when they do show up with glowing smiles and arms raised up in victory, the excitement, support and cheerleading they receive when they arrive make it an unforgettable celebration for everyone. Congratulations to HK Law Clerks, Raechele Jang and Diana Han, on successfully passing the bar!

July brings exciting celebrations and new beginnings as our team of certified family law specialists, associates, and staff continue advocating for our clients and assisting our community. As our team continues to grow and learn from one another, we look back at HK’s unforgettable moments, appreciate the present ones, and look ahead to the future.
June 2021
We graciously welcome the beginning of summer and the ability for more of us to physically return to the office! We have adopted a post-pandemic hybrid working plan, whereby some employees work remotely, some share a physical space part time, and those willing are situated at our 12,000 square foot headquarters. Our cohesive teamwork truly does make the dream work, and the HK employee culture is back in full effect with free Friday lunches, in person mentoring and talent development, attorney strategy sessions and special celebrations. In addition to continuing to provide legal services via Zoom, we are also now able to meet clients in person, conduct live depositions and conduct private settlement conferences in our conference rooms.

As 2020 has introduced unprecedented challenges for all of us, now is the time to be thankful for all the opportunities we do have. We are truly grateful that Hoover Krepelka, LLP, was able to quickly adapt to this year’s sudden remote and social distanced working conditions while at the same time expanding our roster and resources to accommodate the increased demand for divorces during COVID-19. We have been operating under the mantra, “Tough times don’t last, tough teams do.”
