Speak out if you’re concerned about parental alienation

If there is one thing that you’re sure of, it’s that your ex-spouse is narcissistic and cares little about what they do to bring you pain. You know this because of the actions they’ve been taking with your child.

Every time your child goes to their home and returns, they’re disrespectful and hurtful to you. They say that their other parent told them that they had to be and that you were the cause of all the current problems they’ve been facing.

When you’re dealing with a horrible situation like this, it’s important to speak out and reach out to your attorney. On top of that, it’s smart to get your child enrolled in therapy because dealing with parental alienation is not going to be easy.

Is parental alienation the same as child abuse?

In some cases, it may be but not in all. It’s sometimes easy to forget how impressionable children are. You might say something rude about their other parent, and they could then repeat it or act out against them because of it. Even if that’s not intentional, repeated events could lead to alienation. Of course, there are also times when one parent intentionally tries to alienate a child from the other parent. This tends to be a way for the unhappy parent to try to control the situation and cause the other harm.

If you are worried about parental alienation during divorce, it’s necessary to speak out right away. You may be able to seek a court order to limit or restrict visitation until there’s a resolution.
