Hoover Krepelka Celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

by | May 22, 2024 | Firm News

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of the AAPI community to the culture and history of the United States. May was chosen as AAPI Heritage month both because the first Japanese immigrants came to the U.S. on May 7, 1843, and because of the transcontinental railroad, whose tracks were famously laid in large part by Chinese immigrants, was completed on May 10, 1869. These facts highlight the integral role that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have played in the history of the American West and the growth of the San Francisco Bay Area from an up-and-coming coastal town into the international hub of technology, commerce, and culture that it is today.

The modern-day Bay Area is home to a thriving AAPI community, encompassing professionals, innovators, artists, business owners, and other talented individuals who continue to give back to the community. Among them are several accomplished attorneys we are proud to number among our team at Hoover Krepelka. This month we are celebrating the AAPI lawyers who provide exemplary legal service to our clients throughout the year.
